- Second reviewOn every return
- Deadline trackingExtensions filed on time
Big Accountants provides tax preparation services and tax filing for US businesses: S corporations, partnerships, multi member LLCs, C corporations and sole proprietors. We prepare the return from your reconciled books, review it, send it to you for signature and file it electronically with the IRS and your state.
Because our bookkeeping and tax teams work together, your return is built on numbers that have already been checked. That means fewer questions in March, fewer amended returns later and a clear record behind every figure if the IRS ever asks.

- Second preparer review
- E-signature and electronic filing
- Acceptance confirmation and copies kept

Business Tax Filing Deadlines
Federal due dates for calendar year businesses. When a due date falls on a weekend or legal holiday, it moves to the next business day.
| Return | Who files | Due date | If you need more time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Form 1099-NEC | Businesses paying contractors | January 31 | Very limited, file on time |
| Form 1065 | Partnerships and multi member LLCs | 15th day of the 3rd month (March 15) | Form 7004, generally 6 months |
| Form 1120-S | S corporations | 15th day of the 3rd month (March 15) | Form 7004, generally 6 months |
| Form 1120 | C corporations | 15th day of the 4th month (April 15) | Form 7004, generally 6 months |
| Schedule C | Sole proprietors on Form 1040 | April 15 | Form 4868, filed by April 15 |
An extension gives more time to file, not to pay. Form 7004 “does not extend the time to pay any tax due,” according to the IRS Instructions for Form 7004. Due dates are set out in the IRS instructions for Form 1120-S and Form 1120. Fiscal year businesses follow different dates.
What Late Tax Filing Costs a Business
IRS penalties add up quickly, and some apply even when no tax is owed. On time preparation and filing is the cheapest tax planning there is.
How Our Tax Preparation and Filing Process Works

We e-file, confirm acceptance and send you the final return and K-1s.
Books behind? Our catch up bookkeeping team brings them current first, and we file an extension if the deadline is close.

Tax Preparation Services FAQs
What do your tax preparation services include?
Our tax preparation services include a year end review of your books, preparation of federal and state business returns, a second preparer review, your e-signature, electronic filing with the IRS and state, and confirmation once the return is accepted.
Do you file the return or only prepare it?
We do both. Once you review the return and sign the e-file authorization, we file it electronically and send you the acceptance confirmation and final copies.
When is an S corporation tax return due?
Form 1120-S is generally due by the 15th day of the 3rd month after the tax year ends, which is March 15 for calendar year companies. If that date falls on a weekend or holiday, it moves to the next business day.
Can you file an extension for my business?
Yes. We file Form 7004 before the original due date, which generally gives six more months to file. An extension does not extend the time to pay, so we estimate any tax due and help you pay it on time.
How much do business tax preparation services cost?
Cost depends on entity type, number of owners, states, the condition of your books and the schedules involved. We quote a competitive fixed price per return, or bundle tax with monthly bookkeeping, before any work starts.
Do you prepare state tax returns?
Yes. We prepare and file the state income and franchise tax returns your business is required to file alongside the federal return.
Can you file late or prior year returns?
Yes. We bring the books for each missing year up to date, prepare the overdue returns and file them, so penalties and interest stop growing as soon as possible.
How long should I keep business tax records?
Keep the records that support your return until the period of limitations for that return expires, which is generally three years and longer in some cases. The IRS explains the rules in its guidance on how long to keep records.
